Sherman Toppin is a highly experienced attorney, entrepreneur, and instructor specializing in various practice areas including real estate, land use, litigation, technology, estate, and probate. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia and his Juris Doctor from the College of William & Mary Law School. In addition, Mr. Toppin has acquired certificates from the MIT Sloan School of Business for completing the Executive Program "Blockchain Technologies: Business Innovations and Application" and from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business for the Executive Program "Business in the Metaverse Economy." He is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Virginia, and is eligible to represent clients in both state and federal courts within these jurisdictions.
Within academia, Mr. Toppin currently serves as a member of the Adjunct Faculty William Mary Law School, where he instructs Law and Business in the Metaverse, and at the Temple University Real Estate Institute, where he instructs Real Estate Law. Moreover, he is an instructor with the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, where he has conducted various continuing legal education programs.
Mr. Toppin has established a Virtual and Digital Technology practice group at Toppin Law, P.C. specializing in transactions involving metaverse, web3, cryptocurrency, and other digital assets.
Proudly committed to community service, Mr. Toppin has dedicated several years to non-profit and government-related work. In 2010, he was appointed as a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association's Committee for Judicial Selection and Retention. Subsequently, in 2011, he served as a Commissioner for the City of Philadelphia Zoning Code Commission. Additionally, Mr. Toppin was a Trustee board member at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church from 2010 to 2012. From 2014 to 2016, he actively contributed to the Board of Mt. Airy USA, a community development corporation dedicated to revitalizing business corridors in his neighborhood. Mr. Toppin strongly believes in utilizing his expertise and time to support worthy causes and organizations that assist those in need.
In the media, Mr. Toppin has appeared in multiple episodes of HGTV's show "Bang for your Buck" as a Real Estate Expert, where he offered property valuation data and marketing expertise.
Mr. Toppin was elected as the 60th President of the Barristers' Association of Philadelphia, an affiliate organization of the National Bar Association, by practicing attorneys in the region.
Furthermore, Mr. Toppin is the author of the motivational book "Finishing On Top," which provides guidance to individuals striving to achieve their personal best through the power of finishing.
